And Now... Your 5th Annual Golden Trio Award Winners!

Each year, the thing we love most at Just About Write is watching our friends and fellow TV fans duel on social media to vote for their favorite actors, actresses, and shows in our Golden Trio Awards. What started as a fun social media game (#Top3 forever) by our assistant editor, Chelsea, turned into a yearly ceremony where you choose the three winners in each category. These awards remind us that even if a show doesn't get nominated for an Emmy or a Golden Globe, it's still worth celebrating. Never stop loving what you love!

So without further ado, let's get to your winners! Honestly a lot of the races in this year's categories were so tight that it came down to a few votes' worth of difference. Thanks for being so passionate about these people and shows, and enjoy celebrating them a little bit longer!

Outstanding Comedy Series

You all sure have a love for the lovable, quirky underdogs and we can't say we blame you!

GOLD:
Schitt’s Creek

SILVER:
Fleabag

BRONZE:
The Good Place

Outstanding Drama Series

Whether fighting demons and monsters, dealing with tragedy and cancer, or chasing down serial killers, these dramas kept you all on the edge of your seats in 2019!

GOLD:
A Million Little Things

SILVER:
Stranger Things

BRONZE:
Killing Eve

Outstanding Lead Actor in a Comedy Series

We took a few liberties in nominating two leading men for one show, but can you blame us? Clearly you all showed up and showed love for the demon/angel duo. But you also love SNL alums in their respective shows. And really, all of these men continue to knock it out of the park.

GOLD:
David Tennant & Michael Sheen (Good Omens)

SILVER:
Andy Samberg (Brooklyn Nine-Nine)

BRONZE:
Bill Hader (Barry)

Outstanding Lead Actor in a Drama Series

These men truly brought the drama (and maybe caused us to shed a few tears) this year. They deserve all these accolades and more!

GOLD:
James Roday (A Million Little Things)

SILVER:
Jharrel Jerome (When They See Us)

BRONZE:
Gabriel Macht (Suits)

Outstanding Lead Actress in a Comedy Series

This year we said goodbye to some incredibly talented women when their series ended (unless Phoebe Waller-Bridge decides we need a season three of Fleabag which we would not complain about). But you also really showed up for underrated Schitt's Creek and we're happy about it!

GOLD:
Catherine O’Hara (Schitt’s Creek)

SILVER:
Rachel Bloom (Crazy Ex-Girlfriend)

BRONZE:
Phoebe Waller-Bridge (Fleabag)

Outstanding Lead Actress in a Drama Series

These women continue to deserve your praise, whether through Internet accolades or real accolades (we prefer the real ones too, of course). It's amazing how versatile these women are in each role they've played over the years and we're excited to see them continue to shine.

GOLD:
Sandra Oh (Killing Eve)

SILVER:
Amy Adams (Sharp Objects)

BRONZE:
Jodie Whittaker (Doctor Who)

Outstanding Supporting Actor in a Comedy Series

These men are part of ensembles of hilarious people and manage to constantly stand out because of their impeccable timing, wit, and delivery. We're happy you honored them!

GOLD:
Andrew Scott (Fleabag)

SILVER:
Dan Levy (Schitt’s Creek)

BRONZE:
William Jackson-Harper (The Good Place)

Outstanding Supporting Actor in a Drama Series

We'd say this race was close but let's be honest here: you Veronica Mars fans really showed up for Jason Dohring! Props to you all, and also kudos to the other two contenders in this category. We know how much Stranger Things and Game of Thrones means to all our drama-loving fans!

GOLD:
Jason Dohring (Veronica Mars)

SILVER:
Joe Keery (Stranger Things)

BRONZE:
Nikolaj Coster-Waldau (Game of Thrones)

Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Comedy Series

We think D'Arcy Carden could (and should) win all the awards for "Janet(s)," but also that Alison Brie and Stephanie Beatriz have a way of nailing absurd or nuanced humor with seeming ease. You love them and so do we!

GOLD:
D’Arcy Carden (The Good Place)

SILVER:
Alison Brie (GLOW)

BRONZE:
Stephanie Beatriz (Brooklyn Nine-Nine)

Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Drama Series

You love Emily Bett Rickards just as much as we do, and we know we haven't seen the last of Felicity Smoak, right? Each woman in this category made us feel deeply this year, and we can't pay any higher honor to them than telling them just how much they affect us.

GOLD:
Emily Bett Rickards (Arrow)

SILVER:
Mae Whitman (Good Girls)

BRONZE:
Meryl Streep (Big Little Lies)

OTP of the Year

Well it came down to the wire and the top two duked it out for days, but Suits' Harvey and Donna came out on top as your OTP of the Year! Congratulations to them and to Olicity fans who fought valiantly (and still are honorable with a silver medal!), and to fans of Schitt's Creek who I think are just happy to be in this caliber company.

GOLD:
Harvey/Donna (Suits)

SILVER:
Oliver/Felicity (Arrow)

BRONZE:
David/Patrick (Schitt’s Creek)

Best New Series

Streaming services really dominated this category, didn't they? Whether rom-coms, dramas, comedies, or something in between, these new shows have captivated and entertained us all.

GOLD:
Four Weddings and a Funeral

SILVER:
Good Omens

BRONZE:
Chernobyl

Favorite Guilt-less TV Pleasure

Around here, we don't believe that you should feel guilty for loving the things you love. Not everything you watch has to be Emmy-nominated television... and that should be celebrated! Shows that make you feel good and provide entertainment are the only kinds that should be in your life. And you honored these guilt-less TV pleasures well.

GOLD:
Younger

SILVER:
The Bold Type

BRONZE:
Law & Order: SVU

Outstanding Ensemble

TV shows wouldn't work without the strength of their ensembles. These shows (and so many more) proved that in spades. Whether they're featuring specific character pairings or featuring their ensemble in an eleven-part harmony, these shows shone in 2019.

GOLD:
Stranger Things

SILVER:
Orange is the New Black

BRONZE:
Crazy Ex-Girlfriend

Well, there you have it everyone! Thanks so much for contributing to this year's Golden Trio Awards and we can't wait to see you again next summer to do it over again.
