Welcome back, everyone, to our 2025 Just About Write Awards!
What are these awards? They're the chance for you to vote for your favorite shows, ships, and performers in a variety of categories. We know that there is so much good television out there that doesn't get love at the Emmys or Golden Globes. So this is your chance to make your voice heard. Each category will have three total winners at the end of the voting period that we will award gold, silver, and bronze medals to. Vote as many times as you'd like and feel free to share the awards across whatever social media platforms you want.
We know you might wonder why some performers and shows (like Abbott Elementary or The Last of Us) are not included, but it is likely because we know they will get represented at the industry awards. Additionally, a show had to air at least one episode between July 1, 2024 and July 30, 2025 in order to be considered eligible.
Also while a show like Poker Face is considered a comedy series by the voting academies, we decided to arrange our categories in ways that made more sense to us, tonally, which is why you might see some nominees that differ from their industry award counterparts.
We narrowed each category to six nominees (which was very difficult!) but Jenn and Chels simply couldn't cut the OTP of the Year category down any further, so that one will remain at eight (8) nominees. Otherwise, everything else is the same from last year: In order to be inclusive, we moved to gender neutral categories and our reality television categories have returned!
Voting opens today, August 15, and closes on August 22 at 10 a.m. ET. The winners will be announced in a separate post on August 31.
